October 5, 2026 - Comal ISD is hosting its annual Dyslexia Awareness & Family Game Night 6-7 pm. Thursday, Oct. 15, in the Performing Arts Center at Smithson Valley High School, 14001 Hwy. 46, Spring Branch.
Dyslexia Awareness & Family Game Night is a family-friendly event and great opportunity to learn more about dyslexia and how Comal ISD addresses the needs of students identified with dyslexia through the multisensory teaching approach (MTA) program. Comal ISD dyslexia teachers who are certified academic language therapists will share insights from a teacher/parent perspective on how to best support students with dyslexia.
In addition, the evening will include interactive games, informative booths and community connection. Attendees will have an opportunity to gather information and ask questions at the various stations.
The event will be capped off with recognitions and celebrations as winners of this year’s Kids with heART district art contest are announced. All art submission will be on display.
Families of identified students, families with questions, or any individual who wants to learn more about dyslexia are invited to attend. Children are welcome to join with their parents. Activities will be available for them to enjoy.
